See the line, sink the putt

Once you have decided how much the ball will break, you would normally set the putter head so that it is perfectly square to the target line. The center line on the Optimizer is a 3-D line and as such it is a true extension of the target line itself and you can see it in front of you. Just take the Optimizer back along the centre line and deliver it through the ball straight down the center line. If you've picked the target line correctly and hit the ball with the requisite amount of weight, the ball will go into the hole.

The ideal putting stroke is executed by a movement of the shoulders. The graphics below illustrate what can happen if your eyes are not directly above the target line.
